Fashion Meets Film, Music and Production Design

Fashion holds rich potential for collaborations across artistic and creative fields. This was explored when students from the Fashion Department (KADK) and Production Design (KADK) collaborated with students from The National Film School of Denmark and the Rhythmic Music Conservatory on the project “Mood”. The point of departure was creating a common ground to engage in the cross-pollination between fashion, film, music and production design. The collaboration was experimental with focus on the role of sketches, notes and drafts across disciplines through the medium of film.

The image is a still from the film sketch entitled “Sammenstød” (Clash). It was based on the idea of joining recognizable elements in a flowing mask. The effect was achieved through projecting various faces onto a physical face making new grimaces with each change of face. The emphasis was on analogue expressions to explore how rich material could be created through as few means as possible.
