KADK appoints Søs Holmdal as Head of the Communications and Management Secretariat
On 1 March Søs Holmdal will take up the post of Head of the Communications and Management Secretariat at KADK. She will lead a department, which will support a more visible and socially oriented KADK, while major changes at the internal level require a firm hand in terms of internal communication.
43-year-old Søs Holmdal holds an MA (Communication Studies) from RUC and an Executive Master’s in Corporate Communication from CBS. She is leaving a position at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation as a chief advisor in strategic political communication. Previously she worked in a number of different capacities at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation: for example, organisational development consultant, media consultant, strategy consultant and head of communications for the Eurovision Song Contest.
A sound and visionary boss
Vice-Rector Svend Lawaetz is very happy with the result of the hiring process: “There is no doubt that Søs Holmdal will be a sound and visionary boss of the Communications and Management Secretariat. Søs is expertly equipped to focus on everything that KADK has to offer as an educational and research institution, and I’m really looking forward to working with her.”
Søs Holmdal is delighted and looking forward to the challenges of her new job: “Currently we are witnessing exciting developments in the field of artistic education. While Danish architecture and design are experiencing great success in Denmark and abroad, much more is expected of individual graduates, and the expectations of the outside world in terms of degree programmes are changing. This means both challenges and opportunities. I’m looking forward to being part of KADK and will work my socks off to make sure that every opportunity is exploited, and that we successfully profile one of the best schools in the world for design, architecture and conservation.”
