Empowerment Through Design aims to empower women in the Middle East by teaching them about design methods and techniques. Morphology refers to the Danish furniture designers Børge Mogensen and Hans J. Wegner and their unique design approach.
Empowerment through Design
Since 2008 the Royal Danish Academy School of Design has been engaged in a development project in Morocco, establishing a close collaboration with local handicraft women in Marrakech. In 2012, a similar project was started in Tunisia, with women from the small town Menzel Bourguiba in the northern part of Tunisia.
The overall aim is to create empowerment through design, which is achieved through exchange and dialogue between Danish design students and the local craft women. Through common activities and design trainings, it is the goal to improve the handicraft women's role and possibilities in their society.
The projects are part of the Danish-Arab Partnership Program under the auspices of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and are partnerships supported by KVINFO between The Royal Danish Academy School of Design and local associations in North Africa. .

The exhibition tries to answer these questions and many more …
