ECO - Tectonic

Program
Political Architecture: Critical Sustainability
Projekt af
Joanna Foxley

This project aims to highlight the problems of our ambiguous relationship with nature. Understanding our intimate relationship with it is vital for advancing the environmental discourse.

The project investigates the ways in which architecture can become more inclusive and interact with a wider range of species. Eco-tectonics suggests a thorough study of nature to integrate the idea of buildings as part of a whole within a broader context of natural systems.

By developing a catalogue of parts, which have the potential to be used in more urban settings, the proposal opens itself to several lifecycles and will be built with different scales of users in mind.

The project aims to challenge our current laws and building regulations by moving away from viewing nature as property and towards seeing it as a rights-bearing entity instead.
