Centred around a small cabin design by architect Morten Emil Engel, this event brings together several projects that explore different strategies for and approaches to sustainable production of architecture and design.

Built as a case-study of biobased materials, the timberframe structure of the cabin is clad with an upcycled wooden facade, insulated with dried and pressed grass batts, and finished with cork and seaweed panels on the interior.

For this event, we offer for consideration a number of ways in which biomaterials can be deployed alongside recycled materials and invite the audience to participate in a stakeholder conversation where teachers and students from Strategic Design and Entrepreneurship and others will share experience, expertise, and visions for the sustainable future of architecture and design.

The project is supported by Royal Danish Academy, Institute for Design and Architecture, Boligfonden Kuben and Danish Arts Foundation.
