In 1969 Jan Palach burned himself in Prague in protest against the invasion of Czechoslovakia by the Warsaw Pact armies. In 2020 the fashion industry burned 91milion tons of garments yearly…Being a fashion designer, volunteering firefighter and a Czech myself, my project relate these incidents, thus asking the question whether “I have to self-immolate in order to stop fucking burning clothes”.
